The Centre for Global Equality hosted a live panel event at the Cambridge Festival. The event tracked the story of how OVSI evolved and explores the low-cost, high quality ventilator and oxygen concentrator that is being produced. This event featured presentations from key consortium members in Cambridge, Ethiopia and Kenya.
Richard Westcott and his team from the BBC returned to the University of Cambridge, this time in order to visit CEB and see the oxygen concentrator in action. Richard spoke to Dr David Fairen-Jimenez, programme-lead for the oxygen concentrator and Malene Fumany, OVSI's Laboratory Assistant.
We are thrilled to announce OVSI has received the President’s Special Award for Pandemic Service from the Royal Academy of Engineering. They praised the our teams feat of producing 'a clinical grade ventilator within a week and allowing a rapid response to design changes driven by the pandemic, cost reduction and clinical demand'.
